Crew of the Bebop

Finally finished Ein, Ed, and Faye to complete the Versified version of the hard-luck bounty hunting crew of the amazing animated series, Cowboy Bebop. I didn’t make a whole lot of changes to the costumes, save perhaps Faye (who doesn’t fit into reality very well. That outfit!).

Neither do their origins need a great deal of overhaul to fit into the Firefly/Serenity setting.

IN THE ‘VERSE

Spike Siegel is a well-dressed martial artist hung up on a past love. Jethro Black is his partner, a genial former ‘fed.’ They are joined by computer hacker extraordinaire Ed, con artist Faye and a genetically enhanced but seemingly unremarkable corgie named Ein.

See you out in the black, space cowboy…

 

The Motley Crew series started out with my desire to draw Elgyn’s mercenaries from the far underrated Alien: Resurrection. It progressed to drawing other Whedon-related science fiction characters in a style that lets them fit into the ‘Verse as established in Firefly/Serenity and has since expanded to any motley science fiction crew. My only remaining rule: the original property should not be ‘uniformed.’ (That makes them less than motley)

Character Redesigns for Crew of the Bebop

Like the Crew of the Betty, the Crew of the Bebop required almost no adjustment of their outfits in order to fit into the ‘verse. Faye, Ed, and Ein to come.
